Chris Irby here: Writer, editor, and utter nerd for hire.
I’m a writer, editor, content strategist, and all-around word wrangler with two decades of experience helping brands tell smarter, sharper stories. I’ve worked across industries like franchising, real estate, health care, finance, tech, and hospitality — the kind of spaces where messaging matters and cutting through the noise isn’t optional. Whether it’s web copy, digital marketing, or good old-fashioned brand storytelling, I know how to shape content that connects with real people (and gets real results).
But as much as I enjoy talking about myself, let’s get to the part that matters: what I can do for your organization.
Looking for web copy? I’ve written content for websites, landing pages, and service pages for brands across a dozen industries — making sure every word works as hard as it can to capture attention, build trust, and drive action.
Need blogs, press releases, or thought-leadership content? I’ve produced hundreds of articles, case studies, and media pieces — including ghostwritten bylines for clients featured on Multichannel Merchant and Practical eCommerce. (I’ll let you guess which ones. Such is NDA life…)
Need a sharp editorial eye? I’ve edited everything from blog posts and executive articles to full website overhauls, making sure content flows well and stays on voice. I’m fluent in AP, MLA, and APA styles, and I’ve worked with plenty of custom house styles. I’m one of those annoying pedants who enjoys fixing rogue commas and reining in runaway sentences without stifling the brand’s voice.
When I’m not writing for clients, I’m usually writing plays, mixing awesome tiki cocktails, and hanging out with Steve and Peggy, the two greatest dogs in the world. (Yeah, I’m sure yours are fine, too.)
Bottom line: If you need content that’s smart and strategic — that rises above the standard corporate boilerplate — then I’m your huckleberry.*
